as a parent, I am concerned about the widespread distribution of illegal obscene pornography and its profound effects on our culture.
    Translation:
I'm sexually out of control.  I'm addicted to jacking off to shit so freaky it'll blow your mind, and I have to take it out on everyone else in the country.
He thinks he's making a meaningful distinction between legal and illegal pornography, but illegal pornography is illegal because it depicts acts that are already against the law.
If elected President, I will appoint an Attorney General who will do so," Santorum writes. "While the Obama Department of Justice seems to favor pornographers over children and families, that will change under a Santorum Administration.
Riiiight.  This from the former Senator from Sandusky, PA.

    Fuck off, Rick.

    Have you googled Romney today?

I'm not gay, but if I were gay, and if I were attracted, somehow, to Santorum, I would still not have sex with him. Even if I wanted to sleep with him more than life itself, I would deny myself, rather than give him pleasure. That's how much I hate him.

That's the pivot point, isn't it?   To Santorum and his supporters, all porn should be illegal. Period.

And don't overlook the adjective, "obscene." Even though the Supreme Court has decided cases about obscenity laws.

The point to emphasize: Santorum vows  to appoint an AG who is willing to go on morality vendettas against materials that were long ago deemed legal.

That's what I call obscene and illegal.

Nixon did it. Reagan did it. All they ever discovered is that porn is no big deal. Nixon decided to suppress the finding of his commission because they didn't agree with his foregone conclusions and Reagan published his even though the findings did not support his wishes.

Conservatives keep funding research into porn. And the research keeps proving that porn is pretty much innocuous.

At least when real scientists do the research. There's plenty of fake research out there that parrot what conservatives want it to say, but it never stands up to peer review.

That Puritans are just people externalizing their own self-control issues. I really can't understand how someone believes the kind of ridiculous stuff they do about men and women, unless their speaking from the recesses of their own dark hearts.

It really makes me afraid of what kind of twisted desires Rick is supressing.
