What a Police State Looks Like: "On one side: soft human flesh, unprotected human skulls, cardboard signs, slogans they chant, armed with belief in 1st Amendment rights. On the other: helmets, body armor, guns, batons, chemical weapons." -- JanetRhodes

to an air conditioned car to an air conditioned office it doesn't matter.

      Well, usually it doesn't.

I was in Phoenix for a consulting job one summer.  I had a fluid filled ball compass that I used to put on the dashboard of my rental cars to help me find my way around in strange cities.

It was well over 100F so I parked my car in an open spot right near the client's front door instead of in the parking garage a short walk away.

When I left work I could see that the head had softened the plastic shell, boiled the fluid so the shell had expanded like a balloon, and then finally exploded it.

From then on I parked in the garage and suffered a 1 minute walk in 100F.
