    women and children seem to be synonymous to the good Bishop.

    Is that because women are only to be considered in relation to the fruits of their wombs?

    Because women are, in the Bishop's mind, children who can not be trusted to make their own decisions?

    Or, perhaps, because to the priesthood children, like women, are the objects of sexual desire?

      Because women are, in the Bishop's mind, children who can not be trusted to make their own decisions?
      Also, because to the Bishops (as in the bible) and, sadly, to most people--even many women--being male is "normal." Being not-male is not "normal." Not "regular." To be female is to be somehow less, or other.

      It's a bias we will be working to overcome for a long time.

      Okay, the Government says you MUST abort your child. NOW do you get it?
