    Although my gender presentation may not be totally "traditional", my birth-assigned gender was correct.

    I didn't like cis or cisgender when I first heard it, either.  But then I said, self, you have this privilege, it has this name, own up to it.

    If there's a better term, let it be known and adopted.  But I can't opt out of the designation entirely just because it was a "new" way of thinking about my self-definition.  It's not fair to make trans people the only people who have to specify how their gender identity relates to their birth-assigned gender.

      Although my problem might really be with "straight/cis" since you're differentiating in a very odd way, then.  Straight" people aren't "cis" too?  

      Sorry, but I think you can tell from my two framing diaries (Marriage Equality and Anti-Choice), I pay a lot of attention to word choices.  I think this might just be framing diary #3 when I work it all out.

      All it takes is security in your own civil rights to make you complacent.
