    The National Public Debt outstanding represents the face amount or principle amount on marketable and non-marketable securities.

    This amount was $9.5 trillion 4 years ago and it is $15.5 trillion today.

    The GDP was $13.765 trillion 4 years ago and it is $15 trillion today while revenue as a share of the GDP was 37.3% 4 years ago vs 32.6% today.  Spending as share went from 39.8% to 43.7%.
