  •  They are pushing the envelope (16+ / 0-)

This is an assault on Roe v Wade and the left's unwillingness to challenge any of these laws. I guess they feel that they now have a majority in the court that would repeal most if not all abortion rights.

Elections have consequences folks, sitting out future elections because your bill was signed into law or didnt go far enough or your pet cause wasnt addressed--isnt an option, why? This is the end result.

Very few people sat out. It was just that GOP turnout for 2010 was so high. You're asking Democrats to be far more excited than usual for a midterm. Way more than in 2006. And that is impossible to ask.

People panic too much on this site.

      •  It was Independents and newer voters who sat it (0+ / 0-)

out more so than Democrats. We needed more of the 2008 younger voters and those who were newer voters or those sporadic voters to show up but for midterms, that seldom happens. Contrast that wtih Repubs especially the baggers who showed up in huge numbers.

And to some degree, swing voters either stayed home or voted for the Republicans as that is why they are swing voters.

I think enough data has been shown that Democrats did show up to vote but Independents either voted for Rs or did not show up and some of those new and younger voters who voted for the first time in  08 did not show up.

But Liberal Democrats did show up vote and moderate Democrats too.

    •  End result of centrism (0+ / 0-)

Democrats have muzzled themselves for 20 years.  Maybe they are waking up but I remain unconvinced.
