  •  Interestingly, an opposite opinion at HuffPo today (32+ / 0-)

Sarah still aiming for the White House  which is also an interesting analysis of the tack she has taken.  I agree with Geoffry Dunn that Palin might not have survived the primaries, particularly the endless debates (even good ol' Rick Perry was rather unceremoniously dumped due to obvious intellectual shortcomings and gaffes)

But she is in position to ride in to be the "unifier" at a brokered convention.

I think she's still too tainted as an idiot to win over enough delusional voters to win and the money men of the GOP/Koch cabal know she is a loose cannon and uncontrollable so I don't think she would be considered a good puppet president like GWB...but still, this could be a nightmare scenario. And I do think Caribou Barbie does still dream of redecorating the Oval Office and dressing up for State dinners.

She's still a rabble rouser of the worst sort. And Fox is  still happy to promote her.

Oh, yes, she could gin up such a happy marriage between the Teabaggers and the Country Club types!  I look forward to the floor fight that precedes that "unification".

    •  It could be. She's hinted about it hilariously (1+ / 0-)

recently. However, after letting the goose that laid the golden egg rest for a while, perhaps she's just milking the loyal followers for more donations to her pac.
Maybe trying to pump up her speaking engagement scheduling.
      Just fleecing the sheep.

      I'd rather have a buntle afrota-me than a frottle a bunta-me.

Period. Some of the crap the post is way out in left field. She's not going to be any kind of powerbroker at the convention. That's a media fantasy because it would be a hot, sexy narrative they could flog. Not gonna happen.

      •  I think the writer is alluding to her own (0+ / 0-)

        delusions of grandeur.

I agree, she has far too many enemies now within the power brokers on the right - she is too polarizing even amongst the right wingers, and she is too unpredictable to be a good puppet. But I think the writer is right that she thinks she still is relevant and is playing her cards to have a piece of the action at the convention.

And, I guess I'll not count anything out any more. Bizarre things have happened in recent years(like, an unknown and unprepared governor is selected as running mate by the GOP presidential candidate ... and is treated as a serious candidate by the media ...)

    •  Sarah Palin's sycophants... (0+ / 0-)

The Conservatives4Palin, Texas4Palin, all those bloggers are promoting Palinbots get named as delegates to the convention, and if they can switch their vote, they're supposed to vote for Palin.

So at the very least she's a power broker if that tactic works, and at the most she "swoops in and takes the nomination" like her Palinbots have been dreaming of her doing, for months.

That should be pretty maddening to all the other GOP candidates who have been spending money, traveling all over, giving stump speeches and debating since last summer.  "If looks could kill"...

It makes me wonder if the GOP establishment would find some way -- more potent than the "Game Change" movie -- to "take her out" figuratively speaking....such as a number of "-Gate" scandals that have heretofore been suppressed or not dwelt on by the media and that same GOP establishment.

    •  Palin for President? "Game Change" will stop that. (1+ / 0-)

The movie Game Change looks a lot like an effort to inoculate the Republican Party from any Palin effort to go after the Presidency. Or dog catcher, for that matter.
