Until Palin's infamous "blood libel" video permanently damaged her as a national candidate, she represented everything the GOP base wants in an American leader: White, not too smart, against modernity, an ability to ignore inconsistency, a devotion to megachurchdom, hostility to metropolitan areas, and hateful of anyone not like themselves.
Many of the people who support Palin are at root negative about many things, angry about many things. A lot of them racist, misogynyst... think Obama is Kenyan and Muslim.

They don't care if Palin is outed as fact challenged, a twister of truth and a rabble rouser - they love her attitude, because it's their attitude. Ignorance breeds ignorance. Being objectively wrong, factually wrong doesn't matter as much as the spin that endorses the wingnut stance on any issue you care to name...  and Palin never fails to deliver.

basket's all about the drama, which is just a shorter way of saying what you said.  Everyone's met someone  in their life that just isn't happy unless there's some kind of drama or sh!t going on somewhere in their life, right? That's how I think of Palin and her cohorts.  The nastier and uglier it gets, the happier they are.  Like pigs wallowing in slop.

      Drama queens, all of 'em.
