  •  I went to the airport (4+ / 0-)

when Palin returned to Alaska after the campaign. Guess I wanted to witness a bit of Alaska history firsthand. She spoke to the assembled crowd, and talked about supporting the new President. I kid you not. She was gracious in defeat.

Then she got a whiff of the money she could make by writing a book. She saw the lunatic fringe's hunger for hate speech against this President, and Murdoch offered her a million dollars and a platform from which to spew her venom. So she quit the job she had taken an oath to fulfill and the rest is history.

She's the dictionary definition of a grifter. She'll say whatever she needs to if the money is right. If there weren't a demand for the swill that comes out of her mouth, she wouldn't to slightest bit relevant or newsworthy. So in that sense, Palin is a symptom of the much bigger disease known as conservatism.

Progressives are defined by who they want to help; Conservatives are defined by who they hate.
