    I forgot about that. There are companies that track pharmacy prescription usage by name and report it to the insurers. HIPAA is an absolute joke - it allows this. It's only purpose is to serve as cover to medical providers to refuse to release records of mistreated elderly patients to relatives.

    Anyway,this is a good reason to use a high deductible insurance and buy one's meds overseas via the internet.  Often costs less than the copay anyway.

      you need a prescription so even if you buy the meds overseas they know what you were prescribed.

      And I always knew HIPAA was to be used against us. Not for us.

        I doubt that any overseas pharmacy is part of the prescription surveillance network, except possibly Canada.

        There are many legit overseas pharmacies that do not require a prescription.  By law you are supposed to have a prescription to legally import from them, but that is another matter.
