    ...the industries of insurance and hospitals will adapt to any legislation, no matter what, to maximize continuous growth in profits and margins.

    My NOT-FOR-PROFIT Ca HMO, for which I pay $1000/m for basic coverage in the state pool for one individual, has announced an 11% increase for 2012. Approved by state regulators!

    ACA's new ACO structures promise higher payments for more centralized integrated organizations and better quality.  So, of course, the industry responds with mergers and acquisitions and increased rates. The game is the game.

    We will be very lucky in 2013-14 to retain Medicare as we know it. From Dems!

    I'm glad employers are dropping coverage, as predicted. The sooner insurance is decoupled from employment the better because the great silent majority of large group insureds will join the fight.
