    have Walden!

My social security, medicare and military retirement are EARNED benefits. The checks Paris Hilton and the Waltons receive while sitting around the pool are entitlements. Don't let the Republicans confuse you.

He's too conservative to run statewide and he's moving up in the House leadership anyway.

I changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate, perhaps that's what no one wants to see. -6.38, -4.15

    •  I'm getting resigned to him (0+ / 0-)

My contention that it is possible to redistrict Oregon and split up Eastern Oregon (in large part by extending Blumenauer's district out into a lot of nearly empty counties) was overruled by the ones who actually draw the districts. So once again the State's Republicans are packed into one district that's way different from the rest of the state.

Someday we'll take it on.  This year, the priority is to get back the State House districts we lost last time, plus maybe the 24th and/or 26th and holding the coast.  When we've cemented all that, it will be time to reach out to Jackson and Deschutes and make them swing counties as well.

      •  Just like I'm offended (0+ / 0-)

When Republicans split Austin into 6 pieces in order to deny representation to one of the largest group of liberal voters in the state (and given the area's trend this stinks of a dummymander), I'm offended by the idea of tying downtown Portland to the Cascades for no reason other than political gerrymandering.
