    how much Brown runs to or away from the GOP in the fall.

    if his re-election depends on his being seen as an idependent voice for the GOP, you can bet that national and local dems will make that very hard to do. every dumb thing that comes out of the GOP anywhere in the country is something he'll be forced to comment on. and now he's got Ryan's budget to deal with.

      . . . the bit about local Dems. They won't hold Brown's feet to the fire. Mayor Menino might as well be considered as having tacitly endorsed Brown. It's up to the Warren campaign-- hopefully with some help from the national Dems through Obama's turnout operation and whatnot-- to make the voters well aware of Brown's lack of moderation.
