  •  some florida police have made a practice under (16+ / 0-)

the stand your ground law to dump the cases on the prosecutors and let them figure out what to do.

Some Orlando-area police agencies simply stopped investigating shootings involving self-defense claims and referred them directly to state prosecutors to decide.
It's a complicated law and not necessary in order to protect our rights to guns or self-defense.

    •  Exactly (7+ / 0-)

With this law the person killing doesn't have to demonstrate anything. The police is Pontius Pilating from the whole thing. This is the legislators fault, they made it so easy to abuse the law that you can really kill anyone in FL as long as you carry legally and there is not direct and close witness.

at least collect the evidence like clothing and drug/alcohol test samples. It's too late for that now.

where openly carrying a loaded weapon on your hip is illegal.

I have viewed a website named 'opencarry', dot..., researching a case of a violent assault, where the gun advocates actively promote the idea that individuals illegally register for their open carry permits in Florida, even though they live in other states.

Apparently Florida's laws are written to protect the men who wear their peckers on their hips, and allow them to hunt and murder innocent kids walking home from the candy store.

And they are illegally using Florida Law to open carry in all states. Chilling.

        •  How are they illegally using this? (0+ / 0-)

This whole thing doesn't make any fucking sense.

If you obtain a permit to carry and your state recognizes it, then it's not illegal. (For the rather obvious reason.)

Also, I think you mean concealed carry.

          •  No I don't mean *concealed carry* (0+ / 0-)

            I mean open carry.

Thanks for displaying your total lack of concern regarding violent assault by armed assailants.

It's all about the aggressor's right to be armed for you.

            Well, victims have rights, too.

I hope that the Florida gun laws which are being abused by Florida residents and non-residents alike are struck down hard.

I hope this is a massive wake-up call for every asshole who struts around with a pistol ready to shoot and kill innocent people.
