  •  The fact that he said, "they always get away" (12+ / 0-)

should be enough to convict him of murder. If the victim is running away there is no excuse for chasing him down and killing him...period.  Then the fact that he mentions more than once that the young man is black and there's the under his breath racial epithet which adds the hate crime charge.

Zimmerman is scum and will spend the rest of his life in AdSeg at a maximum security prison which is where he belongs.

there is as there is no duty to retreat (or even just stay where you are) at all.  After all, it could be argued that he could have been reaching for a weapon and have been about to turn around and shoot.  The only reason he is royally fucked is because of the other witnesses and the phone calls (both his 911 call and the victim's cell phone call).

There is no saving throw against stupid.

victim's cell phone call? Is it available? The 911 tape is really creepy and the person who responded to it, is creepy also. Regardless of this insane Florida law that allows shooting people you feel threatened by, it seems clear that this unarmed black young person was killed for nothing more then some bigots paranoia or worse his focused bigotry and vigilante motivation and stalking of someone who dared to be black and wander into what he considers his territory. A place where any intruder of color is a threat and fair game to kill.  I really cannot fathom why any court would allow this killer psycho off.

...since the call was between the boy and a friend, and not the police -- but we do have her account, which absolutely does not help Zimmerman's case.

Murder is still murder, even if Florida has passed laws to make it easy to get away with.
