    included in the discussion of energy production.  Coal mining and mountaintop removal are destroying mountains and polluting the land and water.  Fracking takes millions of gallons of clean water out of the earth, adds noxious chemicals and ends up pumping the polluted water back into the earth.  Nuclear is only affordable because of government guarantees in case of catastrophe.  See Fukushima.  We're all familiar with the problems associated with drilling for and using oil.  If the costs for dealing with all the pollution, etc. were part of the price of fossil fuels, renewables would come out way ahead.

    How do we get the media to make this part of the discussion?
