    A big part of institutional racism is the media amplification of the stereotype of black men as criminals to be feared. These images pervade our popular culture--in TV news, newspapers, movies, and cable and broadcast TV.

    Law enforcement and the criminal justice system need a massive overhaul. They are severely racist institutions.

    Skepticism of all the elite institutions, not trust, is what required for successful leadership in this era. Digby
