Geekesque, you effectively hijacked last night's diary on this topic with comments like that, don't do it again.

Everyone else: don't reply to Geekesque's comments to this effect.

Bottom line is, the officers could have legitimately killed him in self-defense, but that is not the same thing as killing him if he is not attacking them, and we do not support the latter.

BTW Wednesday was the anniversary of the 2009 murder of three Oakland CA police officers by a wanted felon, and I will not soon forget the utterly horrible depressed vibe in town after that occurred.

No sane person wants to see cops taking needless risks with violent suspects, or hesitating to defend themselves when attacked.  And at the same time, no sane person wants to see justice rendered in the street rather than in a court room.

what they can say and to whom?  The Daily Kos Church Lady?

I will express my opinion whether or not you approve.  It is not off-topic, ergo not a hijack.

Take your meta bullshit and stick it where it belongs, Herr Kommissar.

For the record, before the guy opened fire taking him alive was the right approach.  But, it's unclear whether other officers were Hutton the final push.

If not, and the only casualty is the terrorist, they did things exactly right then.

      •  Oh!, just a wee bit twitchy now, aren't we? (0+ / 0-)

        To paraphrase:

"Who the fuck are you to tell people they can't fart in crowded elevators, smoke at gasoline stations, or bring sharp objects onto airplanes?  Miss Manners?

I will fart anywhere I choose, regardless of how many people are in the elevator!  It only goes up and down, ergo it can't be hijacked to Cuba!"

Right!  So fart up a storm, poopypants.  Make a great bit stink and everyone will pay attention to you!  That's what you want, isn't it?

Frankly you just made an ass of yourself, and your comment is hideworthy.  Have a nice day!

        •  No, I was expressing my opinion on the (0+ / 0-)

very subject of the diary.  You came in and deemed my opinion too inflammatory to be voiced.

So, yeah, having someone dishonestly characterize my on-topic opinion as an effort to 'hijack' will raise my hackles.

Next time you wish my opinion to be ignored, STFU and ignore me.

          •  just like last night... start a fooferoo.... (0+ / 0-)

.... advocating extrajudicial killings, which is also arguably a TOS violation having to do with advocacy of violence... thereby making it a hijack...

Anyway, you started enough of a fooferoo last night to last a week, and I'm not going to give you the pleasure of continuing it by replying to it any further.

As for STFU, you really do take the cake for rude.

I'm glad we don't have smellavision or you'd probably be posting nasty smelleos with your nasty comments.

            G'night!  Or g'day!  Or g'dammit!   Buh-bye!

            •  P.S. He died in an extrajudicial killing. (0+ / 0-)

              http://www.bbc.co.uk/...

A police sniper shot and killed the gunman who carried out a spate of murders in southern France, prosecutors say, after a 32-hour siege in Toulouse.

Mohammed Merah, 23, who claimed to have al-Qaeda training, opened fire on police commandos after they stormed into his flat at 09:30 GMT.

Prosecutors said he was shot in the head as he tried to flee.

I support this decision and action.

              Go ahead and HR me.
