    An understanding of developing countries' needs as fundamentally different than what WB economists have wanted (pretended?) to believe, is exactly what this position needs.

    Also, I think there is a vision versus wonk ability in this decision. Kim can put a really good economist, maybe one of the nominees from other countries, in the top VP role; giving the organization a really effective leadership team.

    Especially if they actually help the developing countries economically instead of giving cover for 1% vultures exploiting powerless people.

    I suspect this will turn out to be another of Obama's surprise successes.
