    Chilling diary.

I am seriously worried about getting shot.

    Let's outlaw guns now.

    •  Alcohol kills tens of thousands of people annually (4+ / 0-)

      Let's outlaw that too.

Cigarettes? nearly 400000 a year, with secondhand smoke adding to that number. If cigarettes don't need to be outlawed in the name of saving lives, I am unsure what does.

Pharmaceutical drugs kill thousands of people too - let's get the ads off tv and start phasing them out.

      We can't be too safe.

Might I be a bit cynical.

Guns and bullets are a market.  The NRA was designed to create a wider market base for this market.

With legal guns, the requirement to have guns becomes more widespread.

        Great marketing.

        Deadly, but effective marketing.

It's difficult to be happy knowing so many suffer. We must unite.

      •  unless you drown somene in alcohol.. not a weapon (0+ / 0-)

apples and oranges comparison... Police do not use alcohol or cigarettes as a weapon or tool to fight crime, protect people or keep the peace... no waiting periods... no licenses to carry or own Liquor or ciggies...

death from alcohol or cigarettes is not something that can be done with one sip or one puff... a single bullet to the head on the other hand has an instantaneous effect... usually fatal. So intent and time frame... totally different.

is also an instantaneous effect.  Truck worked fine.
Brakes, tires, steering, transmission, suspension, plow frame, dump body, all in perfect order.

So was the 19 year old nursing student who I cut from the driver's side of the VW Dasher wagon.
However that plow frame bashed her in the skull and she survived.  100 IQ points lower than before, and back to wearing diapers at age 19 and on.

"Weapon"?  The habitual drunk who borrowed the truck from a friend.  The truck was an implement, a device.
That truck never assaulted a soul prior to that late June morning.
Therefore the murderous weapon was the village idiot who despite multiple drunk driving convictions slammed into a vehicle and took the meaningful out of a young woman's meaningful life.

He attempted to flee using the truck, but crashed through a fence in reverse, and into the dining room of a neighboring house.
His blood alcohol content was: "legally dead".
          Three-eight in our BAC parlance.

Oh, and Doc Zombie's not advocating for the cops to keep their guns - but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and a gentle correction.

          And knives.

          probably forks, too.

          And pointy sticks.

Where there is, as you say, intent....

      Who outlaws guns?

Congress.  State Legislatures.  That way the Tenthers are cool.

Who gives-up the guns first?  Why - the public of course, then when all the guns are gone and I do mean ALL of the guns - then the cops will surrender theirs.

      What if they don't?

Well... we've FEDERAL cops for that - only lots of these shootings are DEA-involved, so maybe the Feds aren't cool.

So we get the MILITARY to make the Cops and the Feds give up the guns, and then the Military gives the guns to the Congress, who locks them up, or melts them down.

As a nation, we have tanks, drones, planes and bombs.  Ships and missiles and submarines.  Does ANYONE ever need a gun?

So we should start by disarming ALL civilians, of ALL guns, everywhere.

The cops will no longer abuse their power, no longer have any excuses to shoot anyone.
Then if they do, we can protest, with a police-granted assembly permit.
I mean if three persons in 1000 is a cop, it's not like they could just gun us all down.  Not with one magazine... and luckily each cop carries only around 40 rounds of handgun ammo and 120 rounds of 5.56mm rifle ammo in each patrol car.  480 dead and wounded.  520 with some wounded remain.

So if there's 1000 of us, we can still hold a march to city hall... some limping, some staggering, some dying on the steps.  But "having" to do that will made the cops sad, and they won't gun the remaining few hundred down on national TV.

      No.  They won't.

I said "turn it the fuck off"... I didn't say "please".
