  •  Well, yeah. (8+ / 0-)

But that was never the point. The CU ruling wasn't about favoring Republicans. It was about favoring corporations. It was about cutting off yet more access to the reins of power by the people.

It was entirely the point that Democrats also benefit from CU. The GOP is already in the bag for the corporate hegemony; CU makes it easier to buy up what tattered shred of decency and popular representation is left in the Democratic Party, outbidding us for their loyalty.

    •  Scott Fitzgerald doesn't like Falk. (0+ / 0-)

      Feingold does.

I can't believe anyone is surprised that unions are backing someone who is pro-union.

      •  I don't think anyone is really surprised (8+ / 0-)

I think some people are just disappointed that the people of Wisconsin are being handed their hat in this odd little primary season.

Having fought so long and hard, it's a little much to take for many to be once again relegated to the role of spectator. And GGB's point is valid: outside money is the enemy of in-state concerns.

I'm sure no one doubts Falk > Walker.

      •  I'm not surprised at all. (6+ / 0-)

It's not the endorsement, it's the process that created the endorsement and the shadowy PAC funds that are backing it up.

        I'm pro-union, too, but before that I'm pro-democracy.

        •  Nice job bringing this up, Giles. It has made me (0+ / 0-)

think a bit, I always have had the feeling that there has been some behind the scenes support from somewhere since our recall got off the ground and Michigan's didn't. I think we are fighting a huge, well funded enemy and I am not sure that being "good" is going to help us. The other side is going to twist things no matter what.

Possibly, the really hard work will be after the election, but I suppose that is another whole diary!
