Plus I've been feeling double-disrespected by DPW in the wake of the disability wins last week -- the DPW dissed the grassroots disability advocates who celebrated the victories by attending g the bill-signings as "props" for Walker... As if we had no political savvy of our own when cheering bipartisan wins...  I have no problem with pointing out Walker's utter blatant hypocrisy on disability issues -- I've done it myself goodness knows -- but must we diss the activists, who tend to lean plenty Dem by th way!   I sounded off on my personal blog

My heart hurts that you and your group of advocates were treated that way by the DPW.  Honestly, my eyes are filling with tears.  That spokesman for the DPW is a fool.  What he said is indefensible and shows an incredible lack of understanding of how hard it is for parents of special needs children to make any progress in getting the needs of the children met.  I'm not a "mom"---we never had children---but I can feel in my very being how hard people have to fight for these kids.   How could this spokesman NOT see/understand that this was a victory for people (kids and adults) who rarely get their needs met.  It's about the beneficiaries of this bill----NOT about politics.  Sheesh.

This is the kind of blunder that rightfully pisses people off.  You guys had ever right to celebrate what YOU working as a team had accomplished.  I don't know, AnnieJo.  Sometimes it seems to me that the DPW is run by ignoramuses.  They dithered over when/if to run a recall on Walker; they definitely followed rather than led when it came to the protests at the Capitol; and they're mishandling the selection of an opponent in the recall against Walker.  Glad you let them know what you thought----there are some people in the DPW who truly need a wake-up call.
