  •  My sympathies to your family. (0+ / 0-)

And I know a bit about this husband had kidney failure and spent over two years on dialysis before receiving his transplant.  We are lucky in that we have good insurance.  But I strongly support Obamacare, because for one thing, I know it isn't all about me; that period in our lives was terribly difficult WITHOUT having to worry about the finances, and I always think of the many people who have that additional stress on them.

And selfishly, I want Obamacare so that if hubby should lose his job, he would be able to get insurance, and when he retires, if the promised retiree medical insurance gets "downsized", we won't have to spend all our savings trying to get him insurance until Medicare kicks in.  Assuming they haven't screwed up Medicare by then.  The anti-rejection meds hubby will have to take for the rest of his life would cost thousands of dollars a month if we had to pay retail.

Don't people realize that this sort of thing can happen to any of us?  Your daughter, my husband, you & me.  No matter how well off you think you are, how well you've got it  covered:  you might just need that safety net someday.  Even if you don't give a rat's ass about your fellow citizens, Obamacare might just save your own ass someday.
