  •  So you want to push Catholics further away???????? (4.00)
I am in NE Penna where there are a LOT of Catholics, including myself, and Scranton went for Kerry because there are a lot of moderate Catholics in the world. My whole family, who is Catholic, are liberal to moderate Democrats. All the Catholics I know went for Kerry, (With the exception of two-One of a lesbian couple who is so anti abortion, and the other over stem cell research-mis-informed). When I read something like this about attacking a new Pope and the Catholic religion, I see Tom DeLay and Frist making assinine remarks. Yes, I would have preferred a more liberal Pope, but this is the way it is.

Maybe we need to look at the politics of the Bishops  and Priests who encouraged their flock not to vote for Kerry. Because, MAYBE these clerics were just plain Republicans. Because not ALL the Bishops and Priest of the world condemmed Kerry. What, you think these Religious leaders do not vote or have not voted in their lifetimes?

You know, there are many Catholic people on this blogsite and this diary is insulting to them. Attack the new Pope, attack the religion, attack your fellow Kossacks.

Maybe we are disappointed that the new Pope is not more liberal, but we have a leader here who is a whole lot worse. We can't do anything about the politics of the Pope, but we can keep trying to do something about the politics of America.
