    are wonderful read aloud books for when the kids are older. We continued until they graduated from hs. Herriot, Tolkien and others were a great way to spend time together without the TV.

    And the furbutt was right there getting belly and body rubs while the kids listened.  When it was time to let her go due to the pain she had walking, we spent a day spoiling her with all her favorite foods. Steak, chocolate, ice cream... She was really funny about it all. Looked at us like we were nuts and enjoyed every bite.

    When we got to the vets it was very short and peaceful. And we look back and are glad that our last memories are of how sweet and funny it was. No more pain for her.
