I'm seeing a lot of companies move into inhouse training (especially if they have complex products). You might check with them. I know that unless they have a fully staffed training department the actual developers (software, engineers, etc) write the training - and you know how good that can be ;)

If you can even get a contract job, it can open the door to a permanent job or even your own business. And, at the least, it keeps the money coming in and the skills fresh.

I know you've checked a lot of places, but simplyhired.com is a website that searches multiple job boards and websites and consolidates the listing. Even if you don't see a job that exactly fits, it will tell you the agencies that are looking for the type of work you want to do.

Also make sure you have an account on LinkIn. I've been seeing lots of traffic and have been contacted by headhunters (and I'm not currently actively jobhunting). I would also suggest (if you haven't already) looking up the local STC (Society of Technical Communication) chapter - they do have a network and most chapters have an employment board.

Good luck, and hope you don't mind the concern from a friendly Kostermonger. Many times when you have any type of a plan or things to do it can help work against the depression. Hang in there!
