    but the student could take Polysci 301. I didn't say this particular school didn't have history classes, I just said that one wasn't a requirement to graduate.

    And yes, what you said about transferring is also true, but I suspect the majority of the students finish their formal education at the AA level. However a great number of students do use the community college system to get into the UC's and the CSU's. Sadly, in a couple of years, UCSD will join UCB and UCLA in not granting privileged transfers to those with Cal State AA degree
