  •  Milwaukee county cops are a different beast. (16+ / 0-)

    They've always been extremely conservative.

They've also been chafing under residency requirements. They have to live in Milwaukee county, while many would much rather live in red-as-a-boil Waukesha county and commute in.

Walker and the republicans have favored getting rid of this residency requirement via state law - having the state overrule local control. They were thwarted by - get this - Glenn Grothman, who voted against it.

    •  You answered the question I asked upthread. (7+ / 0-)

Grothman voted against that? Interesting, a very mysterious character that Grothman. He also raised the alarm about the venture capital going to Capcos, which are insurance companies that ripped the state off in the past with a venture capital deal that basically gave the insurance companies a very sweet deal. I can't remember the details.

Back to these police unions in Milwaukee, I would think that some of the members are for the recall, but, also they are the ones who have benefited from Walker's budget repair bill. I am sure that many of them love the voucher they get so they don't have to send their kids to MPS schools. (That way they segregate themselves, I would suspect, although I am just speculating)

Almost never. The average cop will live in a tiny shack on the South Side and use what would be the rest of his mortgage payment to send his kids to parochial schools. You've hit the nail right on the head.
