  •  Unbelievable. (3.87)
We used to be the Good Guys.

    Used to be.

    •  We used to be the good guys ... (4.00) an expression that needs some tweaking. American ideals are good. And sometimes U.S. foreign policy has followed those ideals. But mostly not. Was the U.S. the good guy in the Indian Wars (1778-1890), the Mexican War 1846-48), the Spanish-American-Cuban War (1898), the Philippines War (1901), the Central American Wars (sporadically from 1854 to 1990), the Vietnam War, dozens of interventions, coups and generally self-interested meddling in the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa?
    •  Used to be the good guys? (none)
Hardly... but we have been much better than we have become since 9/11.  I hope this story can get out there.
      •  Well, I USED to feel better... (none)
...about being an American.  That's a more accurate way of expressing my feelings after reading the material in that article.

        Blue to the bone.

        •  That fits my position... (none)
I can't imagine why them furreners hate Amerka...  Must be our freedom...

I wish I could KNOW whether or not this stuff is the truth..  I sure don't WANT to believe it.  Just evil, if true.  And in my name, just sickening.

Makes you wanna give up and move away...  But we can't.  The only moral thing to do is fight it, but how?

Sorry, but I've just got to turn away for the moment, it's just too depressing.  But I'll be back tomorrow...
