    The 12-and-13-year-old girls who are one of the major audiences for the book, and the most active participants in social media, are turning everything into teams.

    WE are ridiculing the teams. (Although I don't riducule the teams when I'm talking to my students, who are the above-mentioned 12-and-13-year-old girls.)

      She thinks they're "gross", as well she should.

      It's a total joke to me (and I've read all 3 books!), but I'm still on Team Peeta. :)

      in Twilight, it was a spontaneous phenomena. With hunger games, I did not hear the Team stuff until the film was on its way. It seemed much more marketing driven.

        ...of any love triangle in stories.  Lost, repellant show that it was, had Team Jack and Team Sawyer, which will Kate pick, for example.  I enjoy romance in stories, but when the story becomes mired in that romance, the story becomes boring.
