Rising tuition and associated policy changes are valid concerns for any student body.  Quite possibly worthy of protest.

But while little more than rumor at present, Wills, Pronilover, and their followers appear to have planned this physical confrontation against unsuspecting (i.e. at least somewhat trusting), and obviously patient, police & security officers.  They wanted, and they got, national attention.  They got their elicited show of violence, and they got their videos.

Their need for drama came at a physical cost to these officers, along with various innocent students, faculty members, and at least one child.  (I could care less about the physical and humbling cost to the thugs.)

Even with the "We win!" claim of pepper spray victory edited out, I don't see how anyone watching the video can argue against this group of thugs' intent to evoke physical confrontation with the officers present.

However little, or however much, trust existed between parties is now further damaged.  All thanks to Wills & Co. acting "on behalf" of students.  In short, Wills' "something big" (mid-March, Huffington Post) plan appears to have been to assault officers, rush into the boardroom, and loudly proclaim that the room is too small ... ????   Um, OK.

Either that, or he's planning something bigger.  For everyone's sake, I certainly hope that's not the case.

Santa Monica Colledge students, faculty, and police deserve much better student leadership than this group of thugs.
