    President Obama likely popularized the expression for a new generation of young voters, but it's certainly important to pay omage to those who first originated and popularized it decades ago, so your shout out is appreciated.

    In the case of Jesse Jackson's slogan, it may well be true that many progressives today would not agree with it, but it was a popular expression at the time, it is catchy and rhymey, and thus is belongs on the list of phrases that Democrats have used. We should recognize, though, as this case exemplifies, that it's often much harder to get the Democrats and/or progressives on the same page when it comes to these phrases than it is for Republicans & conservatives, sometimes because, as here, it's tough to get this side to agree on a policy in the first place.
