below on learning to use the emotional approach to communicating this and other issues.

As an atheist I have no problem separating sincere Christians from the deluded followers of Graham, Dobsen, etc. and these people who defy all concepts of Christianity, human decency and justice.

We need the sincere folks to really speak up to condemn these conspirators. With the rest of us. Troutfishing has done a phenomenal job getting this into a narrative that is understandable to those of us comfortable with the facts.

The basis of G2's concept has to do with the two sides of the brain. The left does the analytical, factual, verbal and linear work.
The right is intuitive, global, experiential - tied to emotions, with very minimal vocabulary. Think poetry, songs. (People who have had left brain strokes that damaged their language center are started with singing by speech therapists to relearn talking.)

Linguists have established that much of our communication and thinking is metaphorical. Telling the story with pictures is very effective metaphorically. The emotional connections of memories are accessed for happy and fearful experiences. We are very familiar with  Republican fear exploitation.

I can't think of the title of an early classic on how children learn. One chapter dealt with teaching science. The example was a physics lesson which started with the students playing with objects that moved according to the law that was going to be taught. Once they had grasped the motion, it's consistency, etc. the teacher started the left brain lesson which was easily understood.

That is also how adults learn. The metaphorical entry is essential for most people. The facts can be broken down to a few essentials. Whenever possible I try to gear a metaphor to the person's deepest values. Children/family the gold standard. Many are equally moved by environment.

The other basic requirement for learning: Repetition.

"People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed; never throw out anyone. " Audrey Hepburn "A Beautiful Woman"
