    The role of outsiders, particularly those associated with colonial powers, regimes, or cultures, should be to simply show up and say "We would like to be of service, here are our skills and resources, let us know where and how we can help."   And then take on subordinate roles to the local grassroots organizers and public officials.  And offer ideas if asked.  Otherwise just roll up the ol' sleeves and get to work.

      ...we ought to be supporting organizations like the Peace Corps, the UN, & Medecins Sans Frontiers that actually help people while respecting them as fellow human beings — rather than IC which exploits human suffering for the sake of self-marketing.
