  •  Seems to me the easiest thing for them to do (12+ / 0-)

would be for them to just strike down the mandate, and toss the whole rest of the problem back onto Congress.

"You wrote it. You fix it!"

    •  An intellectually honest court might do so. (5+ / 0-)

Kennedy is a right winger and he is usually the 5th vote people fight for.  Scalia always was a phony.  Growing pot in your backyard is interstate comemrce to him, but this is not.

This is the powerful striking back at Obama for daring to do anything at all.

They would try to strike down single payer if it passed.  This Court has no respect for precedent.

It's going to be a long struggle no matter whathappens.  ACA, if upheld with or without a mandate does not solve the problem, although it helps millions of people.  Either way, people need to go back and start building for single payer.  It will take a decade or more.  If ACA survives, then we can fight for a public option as s hort programme and single payer and the long prpogramme.  If it loses, then just the long prrogramme.   Perhaps expansion of Medicare to 55 as a short programme.

I'm from the Elizabeth Warren and Darcy Burner Wing of the Democratic Party!
