We're on the ground already, looking to make a run for it or at least soak up lots Repug dollars.  Count on it.

DCCyclone may not be an accurate prognosticator in this instance, but at least he has polling data to back him up, and if you mean to adopt a confrontational tone toward him (I can't say for sure you mean to, but you're coming across that way to me), please quit it and read a little longer, so you know where DKE regulars are coming from.

You are new here, so I don't know where you are coming from. But I do know from long experience that there are a lot of overly enthusiastic people on this site who thought that, because they were knocking on doors, states like Arkansas and West Virginia were going to vote for Kerry. (Then, after the election, some folks on this site were so depressed they suggested the Democrats turn their backs on core principles like legalized abortion to have a chance to win again someday.) I don't know whether you're like that, but while I salute you for being on the ground, that role does not give you elevated power to make predictions, except perhaps for the areas you are personally canvassing.

I'm sure local Democrats in Indiana will make efforts to get the vote out, but unless Obama's deficit there lessens (a distinct possibility, I believe) and volunteers pour in from Illinois again, Obama won't repeat his victory in Indiana this year.
