    but I'd have to check because I just don't remember... I loved reading Poe when I was younger.  I always thought it meant I had a dark side (and maybe I did/do), but I just found his works fascinating...

      and we are all light and dark, poe notwithstanding, aren't we?  

      the interplay of shadow along the silhouette of shapes against the horizon is compelling and beautiful and transformative.  it wasn't until i fully realized my dark side that my light side found its proper context.

      all truths are vital.  but no truth is universal.

        I like the way you put things.  You've got a lovely turn of phrase.  Everything has its opposite, so that all things can come to balance :-)

        The poem may have been Al Aaraaf... (based on works from the Qur'an.  How ironic (I did a little checking this morning on line...)
