Sex Police. It seems nothing else matters to them, that all of their other so-called "principles" are completely optional, and that "leadership" in the church are cafeteria Catholics of the worst kind.

And it's really not even about whether this group is gay-friendly; it's about the absurdity of claiming the group is tainted a couple of degrees removed because the church is in such gay-panic mode:

“The Catholic Church is punishing Compañeros for having a relationship with an organization that has a relationship with an organization whose mission it is to have equality for L.G.B.T. folks,” Ms. Trujillo said.

Yeah, it's unbelievable. What's most unbelievable — and I know people keep saying this, but it's true — is that the church only goes to these great lengths when their so-called "principles" align with Republican Party priorities. It's like the president of Xavier University in Cincinnati (which I diaried about yesterday) suddenly canceling employees' long-time contraceptive coverage this week because of the "national discussion."

In other words, Republicans make it controversial, we go along in lockstep — never mind that our supposed bedrock "principles" didn't cause us concern about contraceptive last  year.

Take the "Can't(or)" out of Congress. Support E. Wayne Powell in Va-07.
