the law that eliminated any and all democracy in Benton harbor was passed this way... WHY did the people of Benton go along with it and now that they know it was NOT legally passed why arent THEY suing the gov AND the republican legislators?

when I saw rachels report last night I thought THIS is both nuts and extremely unconstitutional.

it going to take armed insurrection in places like MI to restore our constitutional Democracy?

This really shouldn't be up to the Dem Party. The various entities who are affected by these illegal enactments of passed bills should have standing in court, and the defendants should include the Republcian Party itself.

Disclaimer. I'm from FL and have never livedin MI, only FL, WV, KY, NY, OK and AZ.

The filing should include the equiv of a RICO action, ands close to criminal filings as a civil action can involve. The redress frankly should include taking the GOP off the state ballot for the next four years.

Those emergency managers of whatever they're called should be required to refund their salaries, and should possibly be removed from their offices in cuffs.

And whatever Republican lame-o had the bright idea of claiming the courts couldn't review their actions should recall that the GOP's founding father said that a government not responsive to the democratic process should be forcibly overthrown.

      They HAVE no voice now.

Since the emergency manager is effectively in charge, do the elected officials have any power to order such an action? How could they fund the suit if they no longer have any kind of budgetary control or ability to enter into contracts?
