Also I was noticing posts by the senators support the Act,
on their web sites.  for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) Al Franken (D-Minn.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.)

I suspect this will ultimately take a statement from Obama, telling the CFTC to "get the led out".

For every speculator there is a hedger.

For every bet hoping that the price goes up, there's another party wanting to establish certainty of what it will pay.

Without speculators, the airlines would not have been able to secure petro prices much lower than they are today.

      Why so much speculation?

Primarily, because President Obama and other Western countries are sabre-rattling against Iran.

Speculators take money from transactions that they don't add any value to.

The hedgers are also said to speculate, but they are speculating on commodities that they will purchase.  Which means that they add value to the transactions they are "speculating" on.
