    If he wants to talk about how great religion(s) are, he can go rent his own PA system from private dollars. The government is barred from doing anything that advances any religion over another or no religion.

      however the president wants. The First Amendment clearly states that no law can be made respecting any religion, or barring free exercise thereof. This address is not a law, it's a statement or speech or declaration or whatever. The president isn't affecting anyone's religious freedom in this manner, and legally speaking he's not doing anything to advance a religion.

      Health care is a right.

        is used to pray or talk about God? It's not a law either and technically you can walk away or sing in your head or close off your ears.

         I agree the President shouldn't use the weekly address for anything religious....any more than a graduation or a courtroom or a school function.  

        Separation of church and state means separation.
