    barely graduated and is a fantastic musician.  His grade school choir director thought he was the brightest kid in the choir because of his abilities and I had to sadly inform him that tutoring came before choir sometimes because he was that poor in his academics.

    •  I had a kid who (8+ / 0-)

      had such severe reading disabilities that he qualified for talking books, yet he could read music effortlessly.  I was so glad when his mom let him take drum lessons.  I asked him once if he knew why he could read music and yet had so much trouble with other things.  He wasn't sure, but said it was just "easy."
