  •  NOT the point. (4.00)

The point is that her and her WH handlers and the Media Whores were long meming the demonstrable lie that she was "fluent in Russian".  Did you actually READ the diary and the examples cited?

So "little lies" are o.k.?  That the Bush Admin so easily and fluidly and casually lies IS an issue.  This is a "small lie" that's exposed.  It's an EXAMPLE of the entire Bush Admin s.o.p.

    •  fair enough (none)
I did read the examples, but I guess I just don't think this is that big of a deal.  I don't consider  the fact ther her language skills are rusty to mean that claims of fluency are lies, even little ones.  At worst, they are exagerations.  It isn't really similar to saying that before 9/11 she was "deeply concerned" about terrorism, which is a lie.
      •  In my mind (none)
it hurts Dr. Rice's whole credibility.  How can you be a Russian expert without being fluent in the language?  Culture and language are so closely related that you really can't understand one without understanding the other.
      •  So what's (none)
the difference between a big lie ("deeply concerned" about terrorism pre 911)and a little lie (speaking fluent Russian) ??  Oh, that's right, a little lie is an exageration.  Iraq has WMD = BIG LIE  "I completed my Guard duty" = exageration.

Wish the hell my parents would have bought the little lie = exageration BS when I was a kid.

    •  actually, it's worse than that. (4.00)
if she went on radio, she seems to have believed she was fluent. what does that tell you about bushco's grasp on reality?
