Serious question. I've never paid any attention to him and am curious.

that Rush and the other right-wing talkers say, but he's got that down-home folksiness that they don't, so people tend to let the hate slide. He wouldn't come right out and call Sandra Fluke a "slut", but he'd imply as much just by calling into question the moral values of her and by extension all female young adults.

It's the same shit sandwich, only on honey wheat instead of cardboard white bread.

Is it hate because we disagree with it?

There are intelligent and rational people who espouse the conservative POV. Is Huckabee one of them? I honestly don't know.

As we all know, Fluke was not talking about her own sex life, and sadly that's been lost in the noise, but let's say she was. Is there anything wrong with a person who believes that extramarital sex is bad?

        It's just another POV.

I think we ought to think carefully about what we're battling here. It may be that Huckabee really is odious, albeit in a more folksy way. But if he's "slimy" just because we disagree with his Flat Earth beliefs and such, we're going down a dangerous path.

All viewpoints, from both the left and the right, have a place on the public airwaves. We're in the process of driving Limbaugh off via economic pressure. And in my mind what we're doing is due to his incivility (and it didn't start with Fluke, as we all know) rather than his politics.

but he's not mean or crude in the way that Limbaugh is.

And I don't think he's out to hurt people in the same way, either. I think his ideas are flawed, but he does have a right to those ideas.
