    Romney's wet suit shirt is the problem in that picture. Men don't wear that at the beach. His son in a full length wet suit isn't helping, either.

    Most Americans go to the beach. They don't go to the beach in wet suits. It looks pretentious, metrosexual, and elitist. It is a poor choice if you're a candidate running for President.

    Similarly, it wasn't the sole act of windsurfing that was problematic for John Kerry. It's what he was wearing while doing it.

    You know what they say -- the clothes make the man.

      in spring?

      It's nice and warm and sunny outside. But that water is cold and full of jellyfish. Not the nice kind.

      I was enlisted Navy when I was in San Diego, and most of my friends were enlisted Marines. Not exactly the 'elite' set. But when we went surfing (ok, when they went surfing and I went drowning), we wore short wetsuits or rash guards. Everyone did. It's silly not to.
