  •  Well, Barton has made a career (15+ / 0-)

of misinnterpreting and quoting words of the founding fathers out of context.  Chris Rodda, who used to post here, produced some excellent take-downs of Barton's crap.

One of my favorites was when Barton quoted John Adams to the effect that the Holy Spirit shall lead this nation.  In fact, Adams was disparaging others who were making such statements at the time.  And Adams was a Unitarian, which meannt he didn't believe int eh Trinity, which in turn means he didn't believe in the Holy Spirit!

    •  What makes it worse is, (0+ / 0-)

David Barton owns the original of Adams' letter to Jefferson where he discusses this. Therefore, Barton must be aware that he's quoting Adams out of context.

Or in other words, David Barton is a liar.

God bless Chris Rodda for pointing this out.
