    But I don't think the country can survive without a manufacturing policy.  Manufacturing is the only thing that really adds value; the rest is all bs.  This nation needs policies to revitalize domestic manufacturing.  Tariffs would be a start.  I am really sick of "cheaper is always better"..  

    Here's an idea: how about the people run the government and the corporations can line up for whatever we leave for them.

      There is a term in Mfg called 'value added activities'.  Many of the new economy jobs add no value at all.  They just move paper or money (same thing in a sense).
