  •  the lists are quite useful (4+ / 0-)

and the idea that folks are presenting them with zero context or that context can't be fairly well understood is disingenuous on your part.

One would be required to know exactly what has and has not occurred on his watch to begin any assessment of Obama's performance, so the lists are quite necessary.

Now, if you'd like to argue why in spite of the lists he is not progressive enough for you, or whatever argument it is you intend to make, you can do that. And if you'd like to argue that parts of the list are inaccurate, or shouldn't be attributed to Obama, you can do that too.

But arguing that laying out what someone believes are his accomplishments has no value at all is fairly silly.

I posted the list about Bush was because I think that without context, the list would incorrectly suggest that he's been a progressive or at least more progressive than he was.

Do you think that I am incorrect about what the list without context would show?

And yes, lots of times the lists are presented with zero context (as in just a list in a comment), or sometimes with little context.

I think the main purpose of that list show how much Pres. Obama has stuck to his campaign promises...  You may not think much of that list but you can't deny that has done what he has said he was going to do.

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing online commenters that they have anything to say.-- B.F.

several bullets in your list were inaccurate, several others highly debatable, so no I don't think the list incorrectly suggests Bush was a progressive.

I think you assume that folks were born yesterday, and thus require context explicitly listed to understand anything.

        •  that's the (0+ / 0-)

situation in any such list, include the ones about President Obama (which is my entire darn point here).

If you look at the list without context, it does indeed make Bush look like a progressive, when he was nothing of the sort.

and no, people don't have to be born yesterday to not know the context of such-and-such act passed in 2006.

          •  so in other words (0+ / 0-)

if I ignore everything that's common knowledge and that we all already know...

So one must approach all writings as if the people reading it were born yesterday?
