  •  There is a clear ethos involved here... (6+ / 0-)

on the part of the Romney team and you saw it early on...say anything you want about your opponent.  Don't worry if it isn't fact all the better if it is not.  And if confronted, never back down...never admit it is unethical...better yet, keep repeating it.

As noted earlier, the Romney team's ethics are best demonstrated by that ad they ran supposedly showing Obama saying "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose."

It was almost immediately pointed out that the clip used had been carefully edited by the Romney team.  During Obama's campaign for President he quoted a remark made by an aide to his opponent John McCain who said, "If we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose."

So....take a statement by the President, who was clearly quoting the remarks of an opponent, and edit it to make it look like the President said it.

Yeah...well I've said "Able was I ere I saw Elba," but that doesn't make me Napoleon.  And dealing with the truth in this manner will not make Mitt President.  It is only one of a growing mountain of mis-truths uttered by Mr. Romney, but the way in which it was created....with malice aforethought, says volumes about the ethics of his strategists.

Free markets would be a great idea, if markets were actually free.
