  •  Has there been any polling on the Pa. ag primary (0+ / 0-)

race between Kayhleen Kane and Patrick Murphy. I thought Murphy had had it wrapped up but Kane has been running some effective adds, and will appear with Bill Clinton in the Phila. suburbs today. I also got a robo call from BC this last PM. Given she's from Lackawanna County Kane could be an effective candidate (more then the usually unsuccessful southwestern Democratic recent statewide candidates.

    •  Personally I think Kane is the better candidate (2+ / 0-)

My guess is each would run about the same in Lackawanna, or within 10-20K votes of each other.  Murphy on the other hand is almost guaranteed to outperform Kane in Bucks/Philly counties (by far more than Kane wins in Lackawanna) and likely to do so in Montgomery and Delaware as well.

I think the GOP is basically giving this race away.  they've been successful at AG by having people from Dem strongholds hold down margins (Corbett-Allegheny County, Fisher-Allegheny County, Preate-Lackawanna County, etc).  Why they chose someone from a GOP area with no major appeal in Philly/Pittsburgh/Lackawanna/Erie I'll never quite understand.

But you're right, our continuous running of Western PA Democrats had to end, and luckily it has :-)
